Welcome to my Pan Mass Challenge blog.

I will chronicle my training and fund raising activities here for any who wishes to follow along.

Fairly soon I'll post my training schedule, which will basically just be a set of goals for mileage each week, from now until PMC weekend, plus the long ride schedule provided by the PMC training consultant.

My first road ride of the season was Friday, 4/23. I rode into work and back, plus a slight detour, for a total of 35 miles. So far everything feels good. I've been stretching and icing my knees every now and then. I'm a little paranoid about some knee pain I had two years ago, which was probably the result of too much riding at the beginning of the season plus poor stretching (read: no stretching). Fortunately I now have a very caring DPT candidate looking out for me, and she gives great advice.

Little bit of butt pain, but I got adjusted to being in the saddle pretty quick. It's like a second home, all the time I spend there.

Anyway, this being the first post and I'm rambling already, I'd like to thank again everyone who donated last year, and especially those who have been with me since the beginning, donating three times in a row. I'm required to raise $4,200 this year so I hope you will come through again.

And to clear up any confusion when I say I'm "required" to raise $4,200, that doesn't mean if I raise only $3,000, I don't get to participate in the ride. It means however much I fall short of $4,200, the balance is charged to my credit card. So I'm committed no matter what, I hope you are too.
